Addis Ababa University (AAU) holds a roundtable discussion with various national media representatives on “The Role of Media in Promoting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Ethiopia” at the Hilton Addis Hotel on December 17, 2022. The half-day roundtable discussion was organized by the SustGOV-NORHED project. Dr. Yeshitla Wondmeneh, SustGOV-NORHED project coordinator at AAU, stated in his opening remarks that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss and exchange views with media personnel on the role of the media for sustained development in Ethiopia. The meeting started with brief introductions about the SDGs global experience by the SustGOV project team leader, Prof. Dan Banik from Norway, through a virtual presentation. Drs. Yeshitela Wondmeneh and Aklilu Amsalu then made brief presentations on possible discussion points, thus setting the stage for upcoming discussions. The last component of the meeting was plenary deliberations to exchange experiences and view points.
